What Did We Do in 2019?
Drinking coffee is a habit we prefer to share with our loved ones, right?
What could be more relaxing than chatting with your loved ones over coffee; listening and sharing? And the end of this sharing, fortune telling; interpretation of the shapes in the cup, impromptu conversations.
How it warms our hearts. Aren't these impromptu details what connect us to our loved ones and life? I think that no matter how much we plan our lives, they change direction with the small or big steps we take improvised. Where are we heading with our impromptu choices that we make without realizing it? I ask what we should do to avoid getting lost in the city life where we don't have time to stop and think. It is always good to stop and take a few steps away from myself to find answers. Let 2020 be a year with plenty of spontaneous conversations and more time for our loved ones.
OZLEM TUNA - ZERO DESIGN
What did we do in 2019?
In the first month of the year, our porcelain workshop moved to its new location in Istanbul. Our new and large porcelain furnaces took their places in the workshop. We can produce our designs in a more comfortable and spacious environment.
NEW DESIGN STORE
We have moved to our new design shop and office space in the city center of Istanbul. It is in the middle of Boğazkesen Street, Beyoğlu, below the newly developed Tomtom neighborhood and close to the Galatasaray, Karaköy and Kabataş neighborhoods.
Özlem Tuna - Zerre Design company moved to its 6th location after completing 16 years. The journey that started in the Historical Peninsula of Istanbul continues on the other side of the Golden Horn. On the ground floor, it is very enjoyable to meet new tourists and share what we do in our shop where we exhibit our designs. The second floor is our design office. In the middle of the space, our kitchen is a unifying and embracing area. The definition of DESIGN OFFICE for me is " KITCHEN ".
I have loved spending time in the kitchen since my childhood.
Of course, my first kitchen is JEWELRY and the craftsmen in and around the Grand Bazaar. PORCELAIN ; we start production in our own workshop in the field where I received my university education.
And the KITCHEN ; the space where we cook and share my designs. I am truly grateful to be able to blend these three disciplines in the same space.
The space where we carry out our design, food and workshop plans and design new interdisciplinary projects was exactly what I wanted.
I don't want to finish without telling you about our backyard. We are looking at the magnificent garden of the old French orphanage. The privilege of working towards the garden that accompanies us with its different lights and colors throughout the day, accompanied by the sounds of our neighbor's chickens and roosters, is incredible.
The city always embraces us with different surprises.
CORPORATE DESIGN PROJECTS:
Award-Statue: Istanbul, Turkish Exporters' Association;
We designed and produced the statue of the Ready-to-Wear Association's Export Awards.
We designed and produced the TROY Credit Card payment center as a New Year gift to Turkey.
CREDO ISTANBUL COLLECTION
Istanbul is the city where we live and the source of inspiration for our designs.
In our Credo Istanbul collection, we started to think about and produce the beliefs of Istanbul.
ZODIAC COLLECTION
The Zodiac collection, designed by Özlem Tuna in 2014, was produced in 18-karat gold. Our collection, which was discontinued in the following years, started to be produced in 929 silver and black gold plating in 2019.
Our unisex necklaces with their metallic black appearance were highly appreciated by our users.
COFFEE LOVERS
The t-shirts we have been working on for 6 months have taken their place in our design store and online store before the end of the year. We are excited.
We say, ' The heart wants conversation, coffee is an excuse... '
ISTANBUL MARATHON
As the Özlem Tuna Design Team, we ran for the Koruncuk Foundation in the 41st Istanbul Marathon.
We are happy to help raise 9,160.00 TL for Koruncuk children with our Corporate Run team.
THE NEWEST COLLECTION: SAGE
Our SAGE 2020 collection has taken its place on the website. We are excited about the collection we created with the idea of questioning the relationship between humans and nature and drawing attention to climate change. We will share with you a collection where we will rethink our design and production processes, question and learn about our relationships with nature.
