ART OF HERITAGE

I worked as a Design and Ceramic production consultant for the ART OF HERITAGE foundation, headquartered in Riyadh.

Within the scope of a 1-year project; two weeks in Istanbul and two weeks in Riyadh, the work tempo was quite busy.

First of all, I really enjoyed experiencing a different culture in a work environment. I had the opportunity to learn the stereotyped and false information I learned about the Middle Eastern culture by experiencing the work environment. I had the opportunity to be in very different environments in the fields of Middle Eastern women's work environment, hospitality and food culture.

As a designer, it is invaluable that all these different experiences broaden my perspective on the work I do and enrich my life.

What have I done?

PRODUCT DESIGN: I designed new coffee and tea cups for the Art of Heritage brand. We completed the production of the products I designed using ideas and motifs that reflect the Saudi hospitality culture in my workshop in Istanbul. We made special packaging designs for the products.

CERAMIC PRODUCTION CONSULTANCY: I provided consultancy for the ceramic workshop opened within the Art Of Heritage foundation; organizing it for production, creating new molds, training people who will work in the production line, packaging and stocking the products. The molds of the new coffee cup I designed were produced in Istanbul and production started in the Art Of Heritage in Riyadh.

PROJECT DESIGN: I designed corporate gift products to promote the foundation. I undertook design consultancy with designers working within the foundation to develop new projects. We developed ideas that were in line with the foundation's corporate identity and reflected the brand's special values. We developed creative solutions to accurately reflect the culture. The issues we paid attention to during the design processes included: determining the conceptual theme, developing products in line with the production line, presentation and packaging design.

EDUCATION : I provided training in ceramic production to 19 women (women in need of special education) working within the Art Of Heritage Foundation.

Years later, working with people who need special education, touching people's lives with the hat of an educator; allowed me to look at my work from different perspectives. While thinking that I am teaching ceramics with the hat of an educator; at the end of the day, you realize that there is a mutual exchange and that the people you teach also teach you a lot. I think this mutual education is very valuable.
