What should we understand when we say project management?
It is the most efficient management of jobs with limited resources using project management methods. If you ask what is different from other management methods; I can say that project management has unique planning and control tools. First, we need to start with the project definition. The projects we want to manage in reality may not be included in project management. A project is a specific job or jobs; time, budget, scope are determined, and a unique product or service is created with the coordinated work of planning tools. The important point here is that the project is a temporary job. It will have a clear beginning and end.
What are the projects you have undertaken as an academic?
The first project in academic life; publication. A publication can be viewed as a project. Researching, writing and publishing is a long process and a process that needs to be managed. In the end, an original product is produced. Planning is important here; like sending the right article to the right journal. Apart from this, there are projects that I do to the extent that the courses allow.

There are two projects I am working on. One of them is a project that is designed to benefit students, and the other is a research project.
A project that we implemented to help students of the International Trade and Logistics department put the theoretical knowledge they learned at school into practice, culminating in an international trade fair.
Our students are working on introducing a SME from our country to a different market that changes every year, and marketing and promoting a product by organizing a trade fair in that market.
They are implementing it under our mentorship in a two-term study. We recently went to Mexico.
The other project is one of the European Union Transform Innovation projects.
The aim of the project is to design a digital or online game to explain the importance of sustainability to both university students and SMEs.
It is expected that marketing material that can be used in a competitive environment for SMEs will be developed through this game. This material, which we call green or sustainable marketing, will be shared with SMEs who are already aware of sustainability and want to market their products and take a step forward in competition.

Let's give importance to planning in our work. Mediterranean people prefer to plan and do their work on the road. It is in our nature. However, by making proper planning before setting off, we do not waste our resources and manage our scarce resources well.
