DESIGN, PRODUCTION, SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

DESIGN 

At Özlem Tuna Studio, we care about respecting nature and all living things in all the products we have designed for 21 years. Our priority in design is to realise ideas that we can produce with local materials and traditional production possibilities. We aim to question our daily cultural habits through our designs. We attach importance to our designs to be timeless and to be used for many years.

JEWELRY and PORCELAIN PRODUCTION 

The porcelains and jewellery objects we design are produced in our workshop. We always produce in a sustainable system by experimenting and learning different production methods. We mostly use casting technique in porcelain production.

Since we use manual labour at every stage of production, each product is unique and may have diffirentions. Özlem Tuna does most of the metal work in jewellery production.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

In the historical centre of Istanbul, we cooperate with craftsmen using traditional production methods that have been passed down from generation to generation by craftsmen for centuries. We are aware that we undertake an important social responsibility by supporting the continuation of traditional production, which we call our Intangible Cultural Heritage, creating new job opportunities for our craftsmen.

We care about respecting the traditional production techniques in the Historical Peninsula, continuing to learn from them while adapting them to our designs, and supporting the artisans of the region.
