BLUE OCTOPUS

I've been a pescetarian since I was a child. I don't eat red meat. I learned from my parents when even I was a baby that I didn't like the taste of red meat. From the time I remember, I don't like the smell of red meat cooking. Besides, I love to eat and cook seafood. In the geography where I was born, there is a proverb that says "if my father came out of the sea, I would eat .”I have to say; I must say that I definitely have spirit of a mermaid in me.

Well, remember that when I saw the OCTOPUS coming out of the rocks on the North Aegean coast many years ago, I captivated. And those marvellous suction cups stayed in my mind for a long time. I could not eat them for many years.

And let me take you back to my design journey in Istanbul, I made different designs for the column in the middle of our design shop in Istanbul. I realised that I didn't feel right any of the designs I created. When Marshall sponsored to color our store, I started to think for the column again. I was not sure what to do. Then I remember our mini porcelain bowls . This mini porcelain bowls very useful to use dinning and breakfast table. I love them. I try to use my mini bowls side by side like tiles, I first thought of Octopus' suction cup.

OCTOPUSES They're marvellously beautiful creatures. Espesially Blue Octopuses. They instantly reminded me of the evil eye pattern.

These intelligent and spectacularly beautiful creatures are also very poisonous. They fascinate and inspire me every time I see them.

I would love to invite you to feel the "BLUE OCTOPUS" called our column in the centre of our Design Store in İstanbul.
