BLUE OCTOPUS

Blue octopuses can taste what they touch. Thanks to all the suction cups on their arms. Can you imagine humans tasting what we touch, other than our tongues? I thought it would be great. We walk around the market and we can taste fruits and vegetables when we touch them with our hands. Phew… For example, if a tomato doesn’t taste like a regular tomato, we may not buy it.

I have been a pescatarian since my childhood. I do not eat red meat. I learned from my family that I do not like the taste of red meat since I was a baby. From the times I remember, I do not like the smell of red meat when it is cooking. I love seafood, cook it and eat it. However, when I saw "OCTOPUS" coming out of the rocks on the North Aegean coast many years ago and its magnificent suckers, I know that I did not eat it for many years.

I made different designs for the column in the middle of our design shop in Istanbul. Over the years I realized that I could not decide and implement it.

When Marshall sponsored us to paint our store, I started designing the milk again. I use our mini porcelain bowls a lot on my dining table every day, and the idea of creating a surface with these bowls started to emerge. When I lined up my mini bowls side by side like tiles, the first thing that came to my mind was the suction cups of the Octopus. The Octopus; When you start watching and researching, it's a bottomless pit... Hell, Blue Octopuses. Does it look like our evil eye beads? They are magnificently beautiful creatures. They are poisonous. They are delicious. They fascinated and inspired.
